I’ve been turning over some ideas involving night and outdoor lights and a shiny car for years. Tonight I decided to see what could be found in my town, Vancouver. I know that multi colored signage plays well on glass, and small lights in large numbers add life to the reflections.
Driving around the dark main part of town did not inspire. Not for this purpose.
Quick marts seem to offer the greatest range of color and variety, those and signage for fast food menus.
Red, white, and orange seemed to be had just about everywhere. Thank goodness for pubs and eateries, which have the most dynamic lighted signs.
I was uneasy about parking where I could get the best reflections, since that meant plugging up the road or calling attention to myself some other way. That led me to quiet businesses with empty lots and normal parking spaces close to the action. Maybe early dawn will be better.
